GOOD TO KNOW

A clearer way to practise.

How is my typing speed calculated?

One standard word is five Unicode code points, including spaces. Net WPM adjusts for edit-distance errors. Scores use actual elapsed time. Read the full scoring method.

Can I practise Hindi typing here?

Yes. Choose Hindi and enable a Unicode Hindi input method on your device. This site does not emulate legacy fonts or examination-specific keyboards.

Are these official exam tests?

No. These are independent practice sessions with editable durations and targets. Official evaluation can differ; check the relevant notification.

Choose what you want to practise

Use the typing panel for complete sentences, the lesson selector for a specific keyboard skill, or a word game for a short challenge. English and Unicode Hindi are available without a learner account. A timed paragraph measures copied text, while a game rewards its own submission rules. Choose the activity that matches your next learning step instead of comparing unlike scores.

New to a physical keyboard? Start with the beginner lessons. Already comfortable with letters but unsure about mistakes? Open free practice, finish an attempt and use the character comparison. For reading and movement exercises away from the timer, use the practice handbook.

Start a useful typing test

Choose a language, duration and difficulty before entering an answer. The timer starts with your first input. During the attempt, copy the reference rather than correcting its wording or substituting words from memory. You can allow corrections or disable backspace before you begin. Use the same setting when comparing two results.

Fresh passages rotate their opening paragraph during the browser session. Longer tests join different published passages; the tool no longer pads a session by repeating one paragraph. Selecting a particular passage from the library deliberately opens that passage. The available text is finite: a session can finish when you reach its end, even if some selected time remains.

Understand the result before changing your routine

The result shows gross speed, net speed, accuracy and character errors. One practice word equals five Unicode code points after normalisation, including spaces and punctuation. Net WPM subtracts edit-distance errors before dividing by five and elapsed minutes. This is a documented practice calculation, not an examination authority's marking scheme. Read the worked scoring examples for how insertions, omissions and Hindi composition affect interpretation.

An error review is more useful when it leads to one action. If a word ending is repeatedly wrong, use Practise these mistakes to isolate it. Then choose an unfamiliar passage to see whether the correction transfers. A short familiar drill can produce a much higher WPM than ordinary copying; keep those activities separate in your records.

Use your own material and keep control of it

Choose My own paragraph to paste a harmless exercise into the setup field, then select Use this paragraph. The answer box still requires typing. Custom text is processed in the current page and is not uploaded or saved. Avoid private documents, passwords and real customer details.

Remember results saves optional score history in this browser. My progress shows recent attempts, a daily goal, a practice streak and a chart. It is not a synchronised account. You can clear this history yourself, download a text result, or choose Print / Save as PDF for a personal report. Changing browsers or clearing site data can remove local records.

Use preparation guides for the right purpose

The SSC CHSL, SSC CGL and railway pages provide independent preparation exercises. Check the current notice for your post before selecting a rehearsal duration or interpreting a requirement. The banking tool is optional workplace vocabulary practice and does not establish that an IBPS recruitment includes typing.

For specific help, read the CHSL preparation guide, railway practice guide, or IBPS English worksheet. These resources explain their scope rather than promising selection, qualification or a particular result.

Help improve the next practice session

If a control behaves unexpectedly, send a report with the page, browser, language and a short invented example. You can also suggest a topic for a future exercise. The About page explains how this independent website is maintained and how corrections are handled.
