ONE SKILL AT A TIME
Typing lessons for beginners
Start with comfortable finger positions, then practise words, numbers and complete sentences.
Use a physical keyboard for finger-position lessons. The Hindi lesson uses your device’s Unicode input method. Lessons finish when you reach the end of the exercise or the selected time.
A S D F · J K L ;
Home row: find your starting position
Rest your index fingers on F and J. Use the raised marks to find them without looking. Type each group once, including its spaces, then return your fingers to the home row. Start slowly; this exercise is about position.

Top row: reach and return
Reach one finger from its home position and bring it back. Practise familiar words before trying to increase speed. Keep your shoulders relaxed and use a light touch.
Start lesson →Z X C V B · N M
Bottom row: controlled movement
Practise the lower letters with small movements. Let the position of your own keyboard guide a comfortable reach. Keep spaces deliberate and finish one word before starting the next.
Start lesson →Shift + letter
Capitals: coordinate Shift and letters
Hold Shift briefly while entering a capital, then release it. Where comfortable, use the Shift key opposite the letter hand. Match case exactly; an uppercase character differs from a lowercase character in the result.

Numbers: read every digit
Look at each group before typing it. These are invented practice values. Check zeros and the order of digits rather than guessing a familiar sequence. Practise the number row or your normal number pad consistently.

Punctuation: copy the small details
Read punctuation as part of the passage. Notice where a space follows a comma and where an apostrophe belongs inside a word. The straight quotes in this exercise should be copied exactly.

Sentences: build a steady rhythm
Now combine the earlier movements in connected sentences. Read slightly ahead while keeping your place. Compare accuracy over several attempts with similar settings. If you notice a difficult word, use the mistake practice button after finishing.

Hindi: practise committed Unicode words
Enable a Unicode Hindi input method on your device first. Finish composing each word before continuing to the next one. This lesson does not emulate a legacy keyboard layout. Start with readable words and keep the same input method while comparing attempts.

How to use these lessons
Begin with the home row if you are new to a physical keyboard. Read the instruction before starting, use a relaxed pace and check the character comparison after each exercise. You can repeat a lesson intentionally, select the next skill or switch back to a fresh passage. Short drills help isolate a movement; a longer unfamiliar passage helps you check whether it carries over to normal typing.
Keep comparisons fair
A repeated short exercise may give a higher speed than an unfamiliar paragraph. Compare the same lesson and language when reviewing progress. These lessons provide practice feedback, without official certification or examination marking. Read how scores are calculated.
